A2/TV, A3/Tuner, Disc/Music Player

These are Line Level inputs, designed to accept the most common output voltage range found in consumer audio products.  When the Disc/Music Player input is chosen on the front panel of the Power Plant, the Music Player will be controlled by the F100 remote control. The quality of the interconnect used to connect the analog music signal to the Power Plant from a source component, like the Music Player has a significant influence on the sound quality. Please consult with your dealer to determine the best cable for your system.

A1/PH

When the power plant is shipped from the factory, this is a Line Level input like the rest, but if you have  a record player there are two optional phono boards (one high gain moving coil, and one low gain moving magnet) that your dealer can install inside the power plant to  provide LP playback capability.

Record  IN / OUT

This is a tape loop, for connection of an analog tape recorder.

Pre Out

These output connections can be used to connect a separate amplifier to the Power Plant.  Alternatively, a subwoofer can be connected here.  The output signal from the Pre Out will be variable in output voltage, tracking up and down with the volume control.

Speaker Terminals

The speaker terminals can accept either spade or banana connectors.  Banana connectors are easiest to use, but the firmness of the connection and the solid mechanical interface of a spade will provide the most secure and best sounding way to connect speaker wire to the Power Plant.  To connect a banana style connector to the Power Plant speaker terminal, you will need to remove the red and black caps inserted in the end of each terminal.  They are snugly fit, so a small penknife is best used to gently pry off the cap.  Please make sure that when you connect the speaker cable to both the Power Plant and the speaker, that the + terminals and the terminals are matched up.  Typically, Red is the color code for the + terminal, and Black is the color code for the  terminal.  The quality of the speaker wire used to connect the speakers to the Power Plant has a significant influence on the sound quality.  Please consult with your dealer to determine the best cable for your system.

RS 232

The RS 232 connection is for firmware updates to portions of the Music Player, as well as, bi-directional communication to external control devices such as RTI , Savant, Crestron or AMX.

E Link

The supplied RJ-12 cable connects here from the Music Player to provide full control synchronization of the machines and the F 100 remote control.  The Power Plant will not be controlled with the F100 remote unless this connection is made.

RC IN

If the Power Plant will not be used with a T+A Music Player, a separate F100 remote control needs to purchased, along with a remote sensor device called an E 2000.  The Music Player includes the F100 remote control, and has the remote sensor built into the front display window.  The F 100 and E 2000 devices are available in a kit called an FB 100.  The E2000 remote sensor has a 6ft. cable attached and connects to the RC IN connector.  The E2000 can then be located in a convenient place to point the F100 remote to control the functions of the Power Plant.

IEC Power Receptacle

This is where the supplied power cord is plugged into the Music Player from the AC wall socket.  Here too, the quality of the power cable can play a significant role in the performance of the Music Player, and your dealer should be consulted for advice on the best high performance after-market solution for your system.

Power Switch

This rocker switch is the main power switch for the Power Plant.  When switched in the down position, the Power Plant cannot be turned on.  When switched in the up position, the Power Plant can be turned on using either the F100 remote control, or the front panel power button.
